My journey as an Arborist began in 2010 when I was presented with an opportunity to work in the Otway region, pruning trees to ensure clearances from power lines. Intrigued by the prospect, I made the bold decision to leave my job as a Glazier and pursue a career in arboriculture. Since then, I have never looked back.

Over the course of seven years, I had the privilege of working with several esteemed tree care companies, both in Melbourne and even in the UK. Collaborating with highly skilled Arborists, I gained invaluable experience in a wide range of arboricultural practices. From meticulous specialty pruning to overseeing large-scale commercial contracts and transplanting projects, I relished every challenge that came my way.

After dedicating some time to contract climbing for various companies, I felt the calling to establish my own business. Despite the daunting nature of starting a venture amidst a pandemic, I took the leap and founded Precise Tree Services. My vision for the company was to deliver exceptional tree care services that prioritize attention to detail, adhere to proper arboricultural practices, promote sustainability, and guarantee customer satisfaction.

One of the aspects I cherish most about being an Arborist is the opportunity to assist our clients with their trees. It is an absolute privilege to work in the breathtaking gardens across Melbourne on a daily basis. The satisfaction I derive from preserving and enhancing the beauty of these landscapes is immeasurable.

I started my time in the industry 11 years ago, back in the UK. Only a few months after starting my Level 3 National Diploma, the diversity of the job and my love for the outdoors had completely sold me on the industry.

I started working with a small firm in the city of Bristol as a subcontracting Grounds person, but i soon had other companies getting in contact and I was very quickly taught to climb by individuals with in depth industry experience.

After studying Arboriculture for three years and subcontracting part time, my college offered me a position as an Assistant Teacher, I was responsible for teaching students the fundamentals of tree climbing and felling.

After a few years under my belt, i decided to move to Auckland, New Zealand to help broaden my knowledge and skill. The industry there was completely different, the machinery and species I was now working with were completely new to me which required me to completely re-write what I knew and had to learn fast because of it.

After a year I got itchy feet again and found myself in Melbourne since then I have called this place my home and have been residing here for 7 years and have fulfilled multiple roles for a range of companies and have finally found myself with Precise Tree Services.

My biggest hobby is fly fishing and find myself regularly stomping up a mountain stream in the Victorian high country.

Currently, I am pursuing my Certificate III in Arboriculture, with the goal of becoming a qualified arborist by early 2024. Beyond that, I have plans to embark on my Diploma studies to further enhance my expertise in this field. I am dedicated to continuous learning and constantly strive to improve my skills.

Climbing has become one of my cherished activities, and I find myself scaling trees nearly every weekend. The thrill and beauty of climbing heighten my connection to nature and deepen my understanding of trees.

Aside from my arboricultural pursuits, playing music brings me immense joy. I am skilled in playing the banjo and guitar, and it serves as a wonderful creative outlet for me. In my free time, I also revel in hiking, camping, and embarking on long road trips, as they allow me to immerse myself in the great outdoors and explore the natural wonders around us.

Driven by my passion for trees, continuous learning, and outdoor activities, I am excited to contribute my skills and knowledge to the field of arboriculture and make a positive impact in the industry.

In 2018, my perspective on trees shifted dramatically when I completed a permaculture design certificate. This experience opened my eyes to the multifaceted roles that trees play and their significance within communities.

Seeking a career that revolved around my passion for plants and trees, I embarked on a traineeship in arboriculture at the beginning of 2022. While initially unsure about my career path, I quickly realized that I wanted to explore my full potential in terms of skills and knowledge in a different company.

Motivated by my values regarding tree care and preservation, I decided to apply for a position at Precise Trees.
